Graveyard Lakes and Graveyard Peak from Edison Lake

Jerry came up to the top of the Graveyard chain and stopped to fish.  Jan and Dave and I started to make our way up the side of the mountain.  We basically took the straight up route and wound up several times wondering if there was an easier way.  It took quite a while to get to the top but once we were there the view was fantastic.  We decided not to go down the way we came up (it would have been extremely difficult) so we went around the back side of the mountain which gave us a fantastic view of Devils Bathtub and Edison Lake.  We even managed to find a nice rock to set the camera on to take a group shot.  For our descent, we went about 90 degrees around the mountain and came down a loose rocky saddle roughly 270 degrees (or 90, depending on your point of view) from where we came up.  The last half of the descent was on snow so we simply slid down, which was entertaining to say the least.

Once we were down from the hard part, we went back to the lower lake where we were camping via a different (more direct, but challenging) route.  That added some time but provided some fun rock climbing and great views.  We got back to the campsite in the afternoon and enjoyed the rest of our evening relaxing.  Our hike out on Monday was a breeze (almost all downhill) and we joined up with the rest of the camping crew.  Those photos are already posted.

Thanks to Jan for providing some of these picture (the better quality ones ;-)  Next time I'll have a nicer camera and should be able to provide great quality images myself.
